Sizing Suit Instructions

The Sizing Jacket

Materials:  Jacket, Pins/Clips, Measuring tape(optional)

  • Enter your name and pant size into the online form.  This form must be submitted in order for us to process your suit.
  • Wearing a well fitting dress shirt, put on the sizing jacket.

SLEEVE:  Roll-up the sleeves inwards and pin/clip at the length you desire.  Keep arms straight down and check in the mirror.  You’ll notice lines with -/+ numbers above them.

GO TO FORM SECTION: A

JACKET LENGTH: Fold up the bottom of the jacket inwards and pin/clip at the length you desire.*  Keep a straight posture.

GO TO FORM SECTION: B

*In most cases, the jacket length should end somewhere between the wrist and knuckles but body proportions and personal style play a part in making a decision.  If you aren’t sure, choose the option “Have a tailor make the decision based on pictures provided” in the form.

BUTTON CLOSURE: Use the 1-button start, 2-button start, or 3-button start to button the jacket. We recommend the common 2-button start.  Try the “O” button first but if desiring a tighter fit, close at the “-1” button instead.  If desiring a looser fit, use the EXTENDER to add width to the midsection.*

GO TO FORM SECTION:  C

*To go with a more customized fit, you can choose to record actual body measurements in a later section.  Also, keep in mind that our tailor may decide to adjust the height of the button placement to best fit your height and jacket length chosen.

OPTIONAL:  There are ways to make your suit feel tighter by pinning/clipping the thread lines on the back and sides of the jacket and in some cases the sleeves as well.  To take in “-2” for example, fold the fabric so that both “-2” lines meet and then pin/clip.*

GO TO FORM SECTION:  D, E, Arms

*Make sure to test for comfort and mobility by moving arms forward and around.

ACTUAL BODY MEASUREMENTS:  Using a measuring tape, you can measure around your chest, jacket waist, stomach, and hip(pic).  This information is especially useful when the jacket doesn’t fit properly due to the body being much bigger or smaller in those areas.

GO TO FORM SECTION:  CHEST, JACKET WAIST, HIP

FINISH UP:  Answer the questions and make comments.  Follow the instructions regarding pictures.

The Sizing Pant

Materials:  Pant, Pins/Clips, Measuring tape(optional)

  • Enter your name and pant size into the online form.  This form must be submitted in order for us to process your suit.
  • Wear the sizing pant.

WAIST: Try closing your waistband at the “0” clasp first.  If too tight, try another one that is more comfortable.  If too loose, let us know.

GO TO FORM SECTION:  F

PANT LENGTH:  Roll-up the sleeve inwards and pin/clip at the length you desire.  For accuracy, it’s best to be wearing dress shoes.

GO TO FORM SECTION:  G

OPTIONAL: You can make your pant feel tighter by pinning/clipping the thread lines on the sides of the pant.  To take in “-2” for example, fold the fabric so that both “-2” lines meet and then pin/clip.*  If the pant legs are too tight, let us know.

GO TO FORM SECTION:  H

*Make sure to test for comfort and mobility by sitting down in a chair.

ACTUAL BODY MEASUREMENTS:  Using a measuring tape, you can measure around your thigh(pic) or calves.  This information is especially useful when the pants don’t fit properly due to the body being much bigger or smaller in those areas.

GO TO FORM SECTION:  THIGH, CALF
